About Pro-LAN Services:

In 1984 I left my position with a major aerial mapping firm in San Antonio to become self-employed as a consultant in the then emerging personal computer market.  For the first year or so, I was mainly in the software development field, writing software for different companies in Lotus and Lotus Symphony.  Shortly after going into business for my-self I was introduced to a database management system called Revelation.  I developed several applications in Revelation, including a land registration and titling package for the Government of St. Lucia.

Later, I also developed several applications in Foxpro and then Visual Foxpro.  These applications were mainly for firms in the travel industry and credit services.

I began adding networking to the mix in 1988.  I have worked with and supported customers in networking using:  Novell, Artisoft Lantastic, Windows for Workgroups, Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista peer-to-peer networking.  And most recently, Microsoft Windows Server 2000, 2003 and Small Business Server 4.5, and 2003.

Cabling came along as the networking expanded.  I began installing cable for computers in the early 1990's.  Since the early CAT3 days, I have progressed with CAT5, CAT5e and CAT6 cabling, with several sites running Gigabit Ethernet.  There has also been a need met for wireless networking for several clients.

History:

Since leaving a major mapping company in 1984, I have been providing IT and consulting services for small and medium companies in and around San Antonio, Texas.  In addition, through software support for products represented, I have traveled and supported from my San Antonio base, companies in Dallas, Austin, Freer, Alice, Victoria, St. Francesville, LA, even as far as St. Lucia in the Carribean.

Although self-employed and the sole employee, I have a broad range of support in specialty fields from IT professionals with whom I have shared business over the years.
Customer referrals:

Other than being listed in the Yellow Pages, I have never had to advertise for business.  My clients have all come from recommendations from existing clients.  I rely on the good relationships with my client base to expand my business.
